Clients At The Centre

The Mastercard Foundation Symposium on Financial Inclusion – SoFI promotes the idea that financial service providers in developing countries should focus more on the needs and expectations of people living in poverty.

Mastercard believes that poor people can leverage opportunities to improve their livelihoods if they have access to secure, convenient, and affordable financial products and services. That can occur when commercial service providers truly understand the complex financial lives of poor people and design and deliver products that respond to them.

The 2017 Symposium will take place November 8/9 in Accra, Ghana. For the 5th consecutive year its over-arching theme will be Clients at the Centre as we reflect on progress to expand and deepen financial inclusion, explore what remains to be done, and plan for how to get there.

“This is an essential symposium for all stakeholders in Financial Inclusion from around the world. It’s a great opportunity to learn from each other and celebrate the important and rewarding journey of building client-centric products for the unbanked.” Says Wesley Owiti, CEO & Co-founder Cherehani Africa.

Wesley will represent Cherehani Africa at the symposium.
